Maklaus punching unit mod. SIDE UNIT is a side supporting structure designed for the particular conditions in which a single hole is needed on the material side. It has a maximum punching depth of 450 mm and it can actually cover all its market requirements. It is available in a lot of different configurations in order to adapt to different installation and punching needs. PUNCHES The supporting structure, according to customer’s requirements, is set with different punches. Each punch is made of the punching head and the die. The supporting structure SIDE UNIT is compatible with punches that produce both round and shaped holes. Inox punches are also available. It is possible to connect different electronic controls to this kind of punching unit: GMI electronic control: it is the simplest model. It was designed to receive the activation pulse from the hosting machine and to regulate the punching pressure. Ideal for a flow pack machine, for handles or similar. SIG electronic control: it is thought to generate punching pulses through preselected frequencies. It can work with an external signal to work according to the hosting machine. Ideal for extruders and bag making machines, when precision in punching distance is not strictly required. ENC electronic control: it is used to control the punching regulation with an encoder. An excellent and inexpensive solution for extruders. TOUCH-SCREEN electronic control: it is the most complete model and allows the single control of each punching head. ROUND HOLES The punches made of punching head and die, allows the production of round holes with a diameter of 2 up to 120 mm. The dies are designed to last as long as possible, but they are at the same time the only consumable parts of the working process. Maklaus offers both disposable and sharpenable dies, according to the single requirements. The dies are usually designed for a complete circular cut, but dies for a partial cut only are available too, leaving the bid attached to the material. SHAPED HOLES Shaped holes are all non-circular perforations, such as triangles, squares, triangles, rectangles, euroslot holes, handles and much more. Customized shapes are available upon request.
